Tony Khan addressed the possibility of making his in-ring debut following his attack on AEW Dynamite.
After Jack Perry returned to All Elite Wrestling at Dynasty, he showed up to Dynamite and demanded a face to face meeting with Tony Khan. During the final segment of the show, Khan agreed to meet him face to face, and Perry asked to be reinstated. When Khan agreed, the two men celebrated in the ring until Perry turned on his boss, punching him in the gut with his microphone.
This brought out The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada, who after initially aiding Khan, decided to execute a Tony Khan Driver on the AEW President. After the attack, The Young Bucks wished the crowd well and congratulated themselves on a great show. Many members of the locker room came out to assist Khan, as did his father Shahid Khan.
Tony Khan wore a neck brace for the NFL Draft the following day, and he hasn’t been seen on AEW programming since. AEW EVP Kenny Omega, meanwhile, was the next target of The Elite after making his return on the May 1st episode of Dynamite.
Speaking in a new interview with Cincy 360, Tony Khan was asked if he planned to step into the ring to personally get revenge after being attacked. According to Khan, AEW is a place for excellent wrestlers, and he doesn’t believe he fits that description.
“Well, AEW is where the best wrestle, and we mean that. That’s why I want to make sure that the fans get the best matches, the best action. In this case, I’m not the best person to pay those people back. I think there are a lot of things I’m good at behind the scenes. But somebody else is gonna have to go avenge what those guys did.
“Not only to me, but to Kenny Omega. Kenny Omega actually has a big announcement tomorrow night on the show that’ll be important. I think that will be of great interest to The Elite. I’m quite sure there are more capable wrestlers than I am that can inflict some of that punishment on The Elite.”
In recent news, there currently is no timetable for Wheeler Yuta’s return to AEW following his injury.
