Will Ospreay’s Neck Injury Is “100%” Real, Heartbreaking Update On AEW Future

AEW Star Will Ospreay Turned Down Offer From Notable Band To Have New Theme

Will Ospreay’s serious neck injury is “100%” legitimate.

A few weeks ago at All In Texas, Ospreay was taken out by The Death Riders to rule him out of television appearances, owing to his reported neck injury.

However, a few weeks ago, the former International Champion returned on Dynamite and confirmed his presence for Forbidden Door in his hometown of London. However, earlier yesterday, on the August 20th episode of Dynamite in Glasgow, Ospreay shared a concerning update on his neck’s status. While still not cleared to wrestle, Ospreay decided to take part in his battle against Moxley and The Death Riders.

Soon after, Mike Johnson of PWInsider shared a major, heartbreaking update on it. As per several sources close to Johnson, it has been noted that Ospreay’s injury is “100% legitimate” and requires surgery in the near future. One of the most talented stars on the roster, The Aerial Assassin’s skill was also recently praised by Grado in his recent exclusive with ITR Wrestling.

While scheduled to be in the Lights Out steel cage match at the O2 Arena on August 24th, we at ITR Wrestling wish Will Ospreay a safe and steady recovery after that.

Will Ospreay Wants More AEW Tournaments In The Future

A few months ago, in May ahead of his Owen Hart Tournament 2025 final against ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, former champion Will Ospreay opened up about his desire to see more All Elite Wrestling tournaments in the future.

“Tournaments are the heart of pro wrestling. It gives people opportunities to tell their own stories and potentially have someone to climb up the card with shocking wins. Love to see in AEW do a king of trios, Tag League, Women’s Continental Classic or cruiserweight/Jr cup.”
