Will Ospreay Unveils His Big Goal For AEW

Will Ospreay wants to see AEW have a major global expansion in the near future.

Prior to his signing with All Elite Wrestling in late 2023, The Ariel Assassin was already known as one of the best wrestlers in the world. Becoming a full-time member of the roster in spring 2024, Ospreay has already made a claim for match of the year due to his critically acclaimed match against Bryan Danielson at Dynasty.

Always looking to elevate those around him, Ospreay wants to see AEW grow as a company on top of his own individual successes. While the company has hosted multiple events in Canada and will be returning to the UK in August for the second All In show, Ospreay wants to see the brand go global.

Appearing on the Swerve City podcast, Ospreay revealed that he wanted to see AEW host shows all around the world as it will grow the company and the talent with the opportunity to compete in different countries:

“For me, I’m a guy that enjoys seeing the world. I love doing that. Coming over here, obviously, I bring a little bit of flavor from around the world. I don’t want to forget about what made me. My main goal, I want to take AEW everywhere. I want to do shows in Tokyo, I want to do shows in Osaka, I want to do shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Dublin. That’s my main thing with AEW. I do want to take it around the world because I do believe that travel broadens us.

What made me a man — [Swerve] knew me as a kid. I was annoying. I was a bit full on, but I didn’t know sh*t about myself. I was learning about everything at such a young age and almost using social media more as a diary rather than a platform to promote. It happens. I got to learn and every single time I let anybody down, I came back on my knees and was ready to go to work to prove myself. Every single time I’ve grown up, I’ve matured, I’m in a position now where I’m a parent.

I know who I am as a human being, but I still believe it’s because of everything I’ve done. Every person I’ve met. Every fan I’ve shaken hands with. Every wrestler I’ve wrestled. I believe the best way AEW can grow is by traveling and wanting to do more pay-per-views out in Japan, Mexico, Canada, England, Europe, everywhere. That’s my goal with AEW,”

What’s Next For Will Ospreay?

Ospreay has already secured his spot at the upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view on May 27th. Victorious in the Casino Gauntlet match, The Ariel Assassin will challenge Roderick Strong for the International Championship in Las Vegas, his first title shot since signing with the company. In terms of long-term goals, Will Ospreay has already made his intentions clear.

In recent news, Will Ospreay won the AEW International title at Double or Nothing.
