On April 22nd, Will Ospreay captured the 1PW World Heavyweight Championship in his second match back after suffering a shoulder injury.
Back in March, the star was withdrawn from the New Japan Cup despite scoring a victory in the second round.
Ospreay had begun the year with defeat to Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 17, which saw him lose the IWGP United States Heavyweight Title. However, it seems that loss hasn’t been forgotten.
In the lead-up to their match, Omega and Ospreay traded insults on social media, while a rematch has reportedly been discussed for Forbidden Door II.
Following his victory in 1PW, Ospreay posed online with the newly won gold writing “I’m a war you’ll never win, but I love the optimism.” Don Callis then replied with a photo of himself next to Kenny Omega celebrating at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
In probably the most British response fans could imagine, Ospreay called Callis a “dickhead,” writing that the war isn’t over.

Will Ospreay Unsure Of How Long His Career Will Continue
In a post on social media ahead of his appearance at 1PW All or Nothing, Will Ospreay reflected on being cleared to return to the ring and his career as a whole. The British star admitted that the injuries have begun to pile up, and he’s been forced to adapt his move set as a result. In the short video, Ospreay also appeared to contemplate retirement, acknowledging that he’s unsure how much longer he’ll be able to wrestle.
Despite these concerns, he reiterated that he’s going to keep going for as long as his body lets him.
