Will Ospreay returns to an AEW ring at Revolution 2024.
Having now finished up his commitments for NJPW, Ospreay will be back in the promotion in March, this time as a full-time member of the AEW roster. Back at Full Gear, The Ariel Assassin alluded to the fact that he would be coming back in Spring 2024. According to a new update, fans will not have to wait long.
As was seen on the February 14th broadcast of AEW Dynamite, Don Callis appeared in a backstage segment alongside Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs. With Callis stating that the family are a victim of their own success, no one on the roster wants to face Takeshita. With Takeshita needing a match on the show, Callis went on to say that two of the family members would collide as Takeshita would face Ospreay in Greensboro on March 3rd.
Will Ospreay Appearance On Dynamite Expected
During a Q and A on Wrestling Observer Radio prior to the announcement, Dave Meltzer was asked when future appearances of Mercedes Mone, Kazuchika Okada and Ospreay should be expected. Meltzer responded that Mercedes Mone will be at the Big Business show on March 13th in Boston and Okada’s return is still unknown.
In regards to Ospreay, Meltzer has been previously told that the British star has been pencilled in for a match at Revolution, which has now been confirmed
Mercedes is on March 13th. Okada, I don’t know. And Ospreay could be, I was told Ospreay is in Greensboro, that could have changed. But I mean, I was told by someone who would know that he was going to be wrestling a match in Greensboro. So that’s March 3rd.
Ospreay currently has one confirmed match, where he will challenge Rev Pro’s Undisputed Champion Michael Oku on February 18th at the High Stakes event. With no more matches after this, Meltzer believes that Ospreay will be appearing on Dynamite within the next couple of weeks to set up a match for the upcoming pay-per-view:
And at that point, Ospreay has got no more dates. So I’m going to guess that he would probably show up on Dynamite not this Wednesday, but next Wednesday [February 21st]. If he’s going to do a match, you know, it’d be whoever he does that angle with when he comes out. I don’t know who it would be.
