Will Ospreay Reflects On Triple H Comments: “Everyone Took It Way Too Personally”

Will Ospreay and Triple H

Will Ospreay has explained why he hit out at Triple H and thinks the dispute was blown out of proportion.

During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show ahead of WrestleMania 40, Triple H fired a shot at stars who had decided to choose a lighter schedule with fewer matches than “the grind” WWE stars go through. The Game said he was “glad he didn’t pick” those talents and that they have “no business” being in WWE.

Many took this as a shot at stars who had recently signed with AEW rather than WWE, with Will Ospreay believing it to be a shot fired directly at him. Replying on Dynamite, The Assassin implied that Triple H is only in the position he is in as he is in a relationship with Stephanie McMahon. This insult didn’t go down well with many wrestling podcasters.

Duirng an interview with Adrian Hernandez, Ospreay said he was over the incident now that he had “said his bit.” He went on to take aim at the podcasters who prolonged the dispute, saying he “didn’t give a f**k” about them.

“It is what it is. Everyone sent it to me. People within the company were saying, ‘That was a bag at you.’

“I’m over it now. I said my bit. My thing was funny. Everyone took it way too personally. All these old f**ks that are like, ‘I have a podcast’ and they think they know everything. I couldn’t give a f**k about these guys. As soon as it was said, I fired back and it should be done. At the end of it, no harm done.”

Will Ospreay: “I Like Triple H. It Was A Little Bit Hard Hearing That.”

Ospreay went on to say he likes The Game, and that the shot from him was hard to hear. For The Commonwealth Kingpin, it was simply a case of responding to an insult someone sent his way.

“I f**king like Triple H. It was a little bit hard hearing that shit. I was nothing but respectful in all the talks. I have my own mission, my own objectives, my own goals. Just because it doesn’t fit with your things, it doesn’t mean people should be firing shots my way. I come from a generation where if you fire one at me, I fire one back.”

Will Ospreay will next be in action at AEW Double or Nothing when he challenges Roderick Strong for the International Championship.
