Will Ospreay Praised For Incredible Interaction With Disabled Fan

By Craig Ballantyne. Published 19th June 2022.
Will Ospreay

NJPW star Will Ospreay has been praised after going above and beyond for a disabled fan at a recent meet and greet.

Will Ospreay is well-known in the pro wrestling world as the brash and arrogant Commonwealth Kingpin, leader of the United Empire faction in NJPW.

However, the IWGP United States Champion showed his kinder side when he was taking part in a meet and greet for Warrior Wrestling on June 18th.

One of the Aerial Assassin’s fans, wheelchair user Niko Melendez, took to social media to thank both Ospreay and Warrior Wrestling for going above and beyond to make sure he had a great experience.

Melendez recounted the bad day he had in the lead-up to the show, first having to deal with Chicago weekend traffic and then finding when he got to the venue that his ramp wouldn’t work, leaving him stuck in his car.

However, when he heard about the situation, Will Ospreay went out to see the fan in the parking lot and even got into the car so that he could get a picture. The two then chatted for 30 minutes while Ospreay signed some of Melendez’s items.

“After driving nearly an hour and a 1/2 to the North side of Chicago on a Friday, dealing with brutal Chicago weekend traffic in the heat with no place to park or move because every sidewalk and street is just packed with people… Will is probably one of the best pro wrestlers if not human beings I’ve ever had an interaction with.

“Because I couldn’t physically deploy my ramp to get out of my van, him and the amazing Warrior Wrestling staff were kind enough to just meet me outside in the parking lot and talk for like 30 minutes and just shoot the sh*t about life and wrestling. He was even kind enough to get in my van so I could take a picture with him and signed a poster and my AEW Chicago hat.”

Thank you @WarriorWrstlng & @WillOspreay For an amazing day/ experience I'll never forget. Forever grateful God Bless 🙏🏻❤️🙌🏻.
