IWGP US Champion Will Ospreay has heaped heavy praise on a recent NJPW match, calling it the greatest tag team bout that he has ever witnessed.
The Crystal Palace Arena in London, England was treated to a high-quality night of action as New Japan Pro Wrestling presented night one of the Royal Quest II show on the 1st of October.
Will Ospreay picked up a hard-fought victory over Shota Umino while his United Empire colleagues Gideon Grey and Great-O-Khan lost out in tag team action.
However, it was the other United Empire representatives Ospreay really had his eye on in the night’s main event as Aussie Open challenged FTR for the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Taking to social media, Will Ospreay heaped praise on the match, calling it the greatest tag team match he’s ever seen, despite his teammates picking up the loss:
“5 Stars !! That was the greatest tag team match I’ve ever seen FTR Vs Aussie Open was good the crowd stood up at 20 minutes have past. And didn’t sit down til 35 minutes past.”

The win for FTR marked their first defence of the championship since winning it at Forbidden Door back in June. The duo of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler have had an incredible 2022 so far and remain the current IWGP, ROH, and AAA Tag Team Champions.
