Will Ospreay Hoping To See Historic Match At AEW Forbidden Door

Will Ospreay is hoping to see another promotion featured as part of the upcoming crossover show Forbidden Door.

AEW will take over the O2 in London on August Bank Holiday weekend to present the latest Forbidden Door pay-per-view. Originally featuring the stars from AEW and NJPW, the show expanded in 2024 and saw stars from CMLL and STARDOM also in action. With the show coming to London in a few months time, the former International Champion is hoping that another promotion he is very familiar with gets a spot on the card.

Speaking with Q101’s Case Lowe, Ospreay called for RevPro to be represented on the show, specifically the British Heavyweight Championship:

“I really do hope we can get RevPro on there, because they was such a huge hand in my upbringing and my journey in pro wrestling. Like, I would really love to have the British Heavyweight Championship defended on that show.”

A former British Heavyweight Champion, Ospreay held RevPro’s top title for 919 days. The current champion is Michael Oku, who recently competed on Ring of Honor.

Providing there are no title changes before the show, it is likely that the British Women’s Championship will be featured at Forbidden Door as that is currently held by Mercedes Mone. Defeating Mina Shirakawa at Wrestle Dynasty to win the title, Mone recently defended the championship against Kanji at RevPro’s High Stakes show.

Will Ospreay Looks Back On Major AEW Match

Looking to put an end to his rivalry with Kyle Fletcher to an end at Revolution, Ospreay faced his former best friend inside a steel cage match. Receiving high praise from fans and critics, the match could be a match of the year contender by the end of 2025. In a recent interview, Will Ospreay spoke fondly about the match.
