Will Ospreay Calls Out “Injury Prone” Bryan Danielson

Could we soon see a clash between ‘The Assassin’ Will Ospreay and ‘The American Dragon’ Bryan Danielson?

Despite both men appearing consistently in AEW and even competing at the same event in the form of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023, Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson have never come face-to-face.

Danielson was a stalwart star of WWE during Ospreay’s meteoric rise from the British independents to the main event scene of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. As such, the two have only had a small amount of time to make the dream match with each other into reality.

Now, the IWGP United Kingdom Champion has seemingly fired the first shot in what could be the first step toward the cross-promotional bout between the two stars.

In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Ospreay discussed his Forbidden Door clash with Kenny Omega and claimed it was more exciting than the main event match between Danielson and Kazuchika Okada.

The 30-year-old went on to reference Danielson breaking his arm in that match and claimed he could easily beat him if the two ever faced off due to Bryan being “injury prone.”

“Which match at that event was the most exciting? Wasn’t it Ospreay vs. Kenny? Bryan beat Okada with a broken arm, and I think he was very tough.

I think he’s very tough, but on the other hand, he’s injury prone. If I fight him, I’m confident I can beat him easily.”

Ospreay recently received praise from Pro Wrestling NOAH star Naomichi Marufuji after the two faced off for the first time ever last week.

Will Ospreay Set To Compete In IMPACT After Seven-Year Absence

Will Ospreay is set for a busy October as the British star is set to return to IMPACT Wrestling for the first time in seven years on top of his regular appearances for New Japan!

The promotion announced on Thursday that The Assassin will face ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey at Bound For Glory on October 21st. Less than a week later, he will return to his native UK to compete at IMPACT Turning Point in Newcastle, England.
