Will Hobbs Opens Up On When & How He Signed With AEW

Will Hobbs

Not many talents have established themselves as such a big threat in such a short space of time in AEW as Will Hobbs – with the Powerhouse finding himself go from complete babyface with full fan backing to an integral, and very intimidating, part of Team Taz.

Speaking on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, ‘Powerhouse’ Hobbs opened up about when, and how, he ended up signing a full-time contract with All Elite Wrestling.

“Right after I did my whole little thing with [Jon Moxley], I got to the back and had another contract waiting for me, so I got on the phone and called a few people back at home. When I got back to the hotel… I’m not a real emotional person but I had to shed a few tears.”

Hobbs would come to the aid of Jon Moxley at the end of September, squaring up to his current Team Taz teammates in Ricky Starks and Brian Cage.

Speaking with Tony Schiavone and referee Aubrey Edward, the Team Taz man would also open up about how his real last name isn’t actual Hobbs – and the alternative alias given to him growing up due to being a massive Spider-Man fan!

“My actual last name isn’t Hobbs. It’s close to that, so I had people growing up calling me ‘Hobbs.’ I’m a big Spider-Man fan, and I used to have people call me ‘Will Hobgoblin.’”
