The WWE Universe is still reeling from R-Truth’s shocking return at Money In the Bank, and the sensational details that continue to emerge from backstage. Sources have now provided answers to key questions surrounding Truth’s name change, and what this may lead to.
The Truth returned to the WWE scene at Money In the Bank, but he’s now billed by his real name of Ron Killings. Truth and his son have both publicly disputed Triple H’s claim that last week’s release announcement was all a part of the storylines, and sources have since revealed how Nick Khan took control of the situation.
Fans and industry veterans called on officials to re-sign the 60-time WWE champion, and the decision was made shortly before Saturday’s PLE in Los Angeles. A recent report disclosed the actual main reason for the change in plans, and how this special contract will likely set up a blockbuster program for the 53-year-old.
Ron Killings Asked For WWE Name Change
Ron Killings is now a member of the WWE roster because the 25-year industry veteran was ready to perform under his real name once again. The Figure Four Daily Update adds that Truth asked for the name change as a part of his new “special” contract with WWE, as rumored.
Sources pointed to how Killings now has one big advantage due to the name change. When Truth’s WWE deal expires and he really is done with the company, he will return to free agency and the indies after a period of being on international TV with the Ron Killings name. This will help draw on the indies and at personal appearances in a major way.

The Truth will surely benefit from the name change if he and WWE decide to do “one true final run” in the company. It has been reported that Killings’ return deal will allow him to have that send-off campaign, but Fightful Select notes that one source could not give any guarantees when it comes to creative and booking, but the source recalled Truth previously telling people he wanted to have more of a “serious run” in the ring before before hanging up his boots for good.
The name change to Ron Killings will help Truth and officials pull this final run off, if it happens. The fan-favorite Superstar is rumored for this week’s RAW in Phoenix, but not confirmed as of this writing.
