Why WWE Champion Believes They Are Having A “Generational” Title Reign

Why WWE Champion Believes They Are Having A

A current champion in WWE has pointed out an interesting statistic regarding their current reign.

Thanks to an assist from Liv Morgan, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh defeated The Miz and R-Truth on Raw and have reigned as the World Tag Team Champions for 168 days.

Despite the fact that Balor and McDonagh are the champions, they have only defended the titles twice on TV, once against The New Day and once against The War Raiders. While things have been quiet for the tag division on Raw, the same can not be said for SmackDown.

Following Austin Theory and Grayson Waller winning the Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania, the titles have changed hands 4 times as The Bloodline and The Motor City Machine Guns have each held the titles once and DIY just began their second reign on December 6th following their shock heel turn.

Noting that he has remained a champion amidst the chaos on Friday nights, JD McDonagh praised his reign on social media:

There have been FOUR sets of WWE Tag Team Champions over on SmackDown since me and @FinnBalor won the World Tag Titles. A generational run!! 🏆🏆

McDonagh’s partner Balor could become a double champion by the end of the week as he is set to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

WWE Star Provides Recovery Update

While McDonagh and Balor continue to celebrate their accomplishment, another member of the roster is set to be on hiatus due to injury. Posting an update to the fans, Bronson Reed sent an optimistic message as he prepares for surgery.

In other WWE news, Jesse Ventura has confirmed that more appearances are in the works.
