WWE’s fastest rising superstar, Tiffany Stratton, did not realize she was carrying a “firearm” while traveling across the country.
Stratton debuted on the main roster in February 2024. At Scotiabank Arena in July, she retrieved the Money in the Bank briefcase from 20 feet above the ring. Since January 2025, she has been at the top of the SmackDown roster, having cashed in the contract on Nia Jax. Next month at SummerSlam, The Buff Barbie will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill.
Tiffany Stratton Was Caught Off Guard When UK Airport Detained Her for Carrying Mace
During an interview with Sebastian Hackl on “WWE Deutschland,” the WWE Women’s Champion shared an anecdote while wondering whether she would get in trouble for publicly talking about it. Tiffany Stratton was detained at a UK airport late last year for carrying mace, which she did not realize was considered a firearm there.
“I think this was London Heathrow airport. […] I had mace on me. Mace is considered a firearm in the UK. Someone told me you can’t even carry mace and travel in America, but I was traveling with it everywhere I went. So I got through TSA fine with my mace in America.
However, I went to London, Heathrow, they found the mace, and basically, I think they kind of detained me,” Stratton revealed, before elaborating the situation, “They put me in a corner. The police had to come. Took like, a whole hour! They asked me all these questions, but eventually, they let me go. But I almost missed my flight. Everybody [with WWE] was waiting for me. It was such a mess. I was totally scared that I was going to get arrested and I would have had to stay in the UK, but it all worked out.”
Tiffany Stratton also noted that the UK police understood that in America, it was all right to carry mace around, and she had it simply because of her routines and unawareness of the law there.
This year’s SummerSlam will feature Jade Cargill’s first high-profile WWE title match, having earned the shot at Night of Champions last month, where she defeated Asuka to become the 2025 Queen of the Ring. She was the longest-reigning AEW TBS Champion before arriving at the sports entertainment capital in the fall of 2023.
Will the Storm destroy Stratton’s dream run at the “Biggest Party of the Summer”?
