Why Stephanie Vaquer Became Double Champion At WWE Roadblock

A new report has shed some insight as to why Stephanie Vaquer defeated Giulia at Roadblock, becoming a double champion in the process.

At the NXT special, Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated NXT Women’s Champion Giulia in a match with both titles on the line. As a result of the victory, Vaquer made history as the first woman to hold both titles and also become the first women’s double champion in WWE since Becky Lynch won the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

Ahead of the show, it was reported that Vaquer was the favourite to win the match as Giulia was dealing with an injury. Providing further information on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez added that the former NXT Women’s Champion is also dealing with a minor visa issue:

“Giulia, there are two things going on. There is some minor, I was told, visa issue and there is also an injury which is listed internally as undisclosed,”

After first being spotted in the crowd at Stand & Deliver, Giulia made her in-ring debut for NXT in September with a victory over Chelsea Green. Giulia defeated Roxanne Perez at the New Year’s Evil special in January 2025 to win the NXT Women’s Championship.

Stephanie Vaquer Continues Strong Run In NXT

Vaquer debuted for the company in July 2024 at a house show in Mexico City before making her televised in-ring debut in October of that year. Vaquer defeated Fallon Henley at the Vengeance Day Premium Live Event on February 15th to win the Women’s North American Championship, her first title in WWE.
