WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle was in attendance at the Royal Rumble but did not appear on the show, now a new report sheds light on Angle’s time in St. Louis.
Fightful Select first reported that Kurt Angle was set to fly into St. Louis, the home of the 2022 Royal Rumble, setting tongues wagging that Angle could be set for a shock appearance at the event.
The Royal Rumble is often known for throwing up surprise appearances in the Rumble matches but instead of the Olympic gold medallist, the crowd was treated to shock returns from Bad Bunny, Shane McMahon, and ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey.
Now PWInsider has reported on why Angle was in St. Louis, saying that he had filmed content for the WWE Network over the weekend and was backstage at the event itself.
With no entry into the men’s Rumble match, Angle’s last match continues to be his WrestleMania 35 encounter with Baron Corbin, as the former WWE Champion capped off an illustrious career.
It was a busy night for Kurt Angle’s old rival Brock Lesnar as Lesnar lost the WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley thanks to Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman. The Beast Incarnate returned to the ring as the 30th entrant in the men’s Royal Rumble match and won the bout by last eliminating Drew McIntyre.
Fans of Kurt Angle in the UK might not have seen the WWE Hall Of Famer in action at the Royal Rumble but they can see him up close and personal as he goes on tour with Inside The Ropes. All the information on The Olympic Hero Tour can be found here.
