Why Booker T Believes WWE Should Lean Into Controversial Segment

Why Booker T Believes WWE Should Lean Into Controversial Storyline

Booker T is hoping that WWE will continue to capitalise on the buzz from an infamous segment as opposed to trying to sweep it under the rug.

On April 4th, Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair caught the attention of wrestling fans with their latest promo segment. Quickly descending into chaos, Stratton alluded to Flair’s 3 divorces and Flair claimed that Stratton’s partner Ludwig Kaiser had been in her DMs. Follow-up reports noted that very little of what was said was planned ahead of time and that there was heat on both performers backstage afterwards.

Although some are hoping that any beef between Stratton and Flair is squashed and that something similar doesn’t happen again, Booker T believes that more chaotic moments could be good for the story and best for business. Speaking about the Stratton and Flair segment on his Hall of Fame podcast, the NXT announcer stated that what was said was public knowledge and compared it to the rivalry between JBL and Eddie Guerrero:

“For me, it’s always been about business. I don’t let anything like that…make me lose sleep or anything like that. It’s an angle. It’s public knowledge as well. So if we use it, let’s use it. If we’re gonna go, go. Let’s go all the way…I remember the angle with Eddie and JBL, with Eddie’s mom. I mean, it was just crazy, you know what I mean? But those guys loved each other so much. But when it comes to professional wrestling, it is to be embellished. It is to be used. Life is art. I think you’ve got to go with it. If not, you’re just missing a moment really.”

Booker T Talks Hall Of Fame Inductee

Prior to WrestleMania 41, the 2025 Hall of Fame ceremony will take place and will see Bret Hart and Steve Austin’s WrestleMania 13 match receive the honour as the first-ever WWE Immortal Moment. On a previous episode of his podcast, Booker T explained why he disagreed with the Hall of Fame induction.

In other news, Bret Hart praised a top WWE star for their in-ring psychology.
