Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch both had such eventful nights at WWE SummerSlam 2025. The Man and The Visionary walked out of the show as Women’s Intercontinental Champion and World Heavyweight Champion, respectively.
For Lynch, her title defense against Lyra Valkyria was a big deal because, according to the prior stipulation of that match, Valkyria will not receive another shot as long as Lynch is the titleholder. The Irish wrestler can finally move on.
Another key aspect of her SummerSlam night was that she introduced a new entrance theme, thanks to Dan ‘Soupy’ Campbell and his band.
Becky Lynch Cried Backstage At WWE SummerSlam Because Of Her New Entrance Theme
Speaking to Metro, The Wonder Years’ frontman, Dan Campbell, who is a close friend of Lynch’s, recounted when she cried in front of him at SummerSlam.
Campbell was asked to pen the lyrics for her song, one that featured her legacy and personal things, like her husband, Seth Rollins, and their daughter, Roux.
We went backstage, and [Becky Lynch] came up to me crying, and was just like, ‘It just meant so much, because the last time my dad saw me wrestle live was here at SummerSlam.’ That’s what I was looking for. I wanted to make something that was really important to her. We went backstage, and she came up to me crying, and was just like, ‘It just meant so much, because the last time my dad saw me wrestle live was here at SummerSlam.’
She wanted a whole kind of new presentation of her character. I think that she was like, ‘It’s time to move into a new era for me, and that means new music,'” Campbell said.
Meanwhile, now that Valkyria is in Lynch’s rearview mirror, The Man is ready for new challenges. She received this in the form of a match, supposedly set for WWE Clash in Paris. The Irish-born wrestler will defend the belt against Hall of Famer Nikki Bella.
