Why Bayley Was Absent From WWE SmackDown

Bayley on WWE SmackDown

Bayley has addressed her absence from WWE SmackDown.

At Survivor Series, Bayley was victorious as part of Rhea Ripley‘s WarGames Team, defeating Liv Morgan’s group inside the double steel cage structure. The star also made it through the first round of the tournament to determine the inaugural Women’s Untied States Champion and is due to face Chelsea Green in the semifinals on December 13th.

With so much going on for the five-time Women’s Champion, fans were surprised that she was absent from the December 6th edition of the blue brand. On the SmackDown Lowdown, the star explained that she was still feeling the effects of WarGames and was glad to be able to take a week away to rest.

“I don’t think anyone’s 100% coming out of WarGames. That match is so brutal. We all know the stakes we take, all the risks we take, just by joining the teams and being a part of it.

“I was in there from the very beginning, starting with Nia Jax, so it took a toll. But let’s just say I’m happy that I got this week off to rest. I get to rest, I get to study, I get to watch some Chelsea Green matches.”

Bayley Details WWE Plans For 2025

Bayley has outlined what she wants to achieve in 2025. The star is now looking to the bigger picture and wants to take on more of a leadership role in the company. Part of that will be helping to grow the women’s division to a point where they “take over” and main event more shows than they have before.

In a new interview, Bayley noted that she wanted to face a top NXT star at WrestleMania.
