Who Won AEW Blood And Guts?

AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts

After a brutal battle between the Jericho Appreciation Society and the Blackpool Combat Club, one team emerged victorious!

In the wake of the events of Double or Nothing, an enraged Eddie Kingston challenged Chris Jericho to a Blood and Guts match in hopes to avenge the Blackpool Combat Club for their loss against the Jericho Appreciation Society.

While he was initially meant to take part in the match, Bryan Danielson announced last week that he was dealing with an injury that would keep him out of both Forbidden Door and Blood and Guts, but promised that he would be back. Instead, he hand-picked an opponent for Zack Sabre, Jr., and this opponent turned out to be none other than a debuting Claudio Castagnoli, who joined the Blackpool Combat Club.

At AEW’s Detroit debut in the Little Caesar’s Arena, Claudio joined Wheeler Yuta, Jon Moxley, Santana, Ortiz, and his long-time rival Eddie Kingston to take on the Jericho Appreciation Society in the promotion’s second-ever Blood and Guts match.

Having won their match at Forbidden Door, the Jericho Appreciation Society had the numeric advantage until Eddie Kingston was the last to enter the fray and the Blood and Guts match could truly begin.

The match lived up to its name as the men were covered in blood by the end, and it also saw Sammy Guevara take a hellish bump from the top of the cage through the announce table below.

In the end, just as Eddie Kingston was trying to make long-time foe Chris Jericho submit, Claudio Castagnoli secured the win for his team by making “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard tap out. Though his team was victorious, Kingston seemed frustrated at the outcome as it seemed Claudio had stolen his chance at earning the victory.

However, the reluctant Kingston eventually joined his teammates in posing atop the cage to celebrate their victory.

Elsewhere on the episode, Anthony Bowens stood up out of his wheelchair for the first time since suffering an injury in late May, and Luchasaurus turned to the dark side as he aligned himself with Christian Cage.
