The 2021 WWE Draft has been completed following SmackDown and Raw dedicating an episode of TV to it but some WWE Superstars are still without a brand.
The WWE Draft concluded on Raw with the red brand making their first pick of the night the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. SmackDown followed up by keeping the SmackDown Tag Team Championship on Friday nights and keeping The Bloodline together as they drafted The Usos. The Hurt Business led by Bobby Lashley was then retained by Raw while SmackDown gave the last pick of the first round to Sasha Banks.
NXT was involved in the draft as they had been on SmackDown when Hit Row and Austin Theory were both drafted. SmackDown has drafted Tian Sha’s Xia Li to Friday nights alongside Englishman Ridge Holland. The red brand was not to be outdone however as they shockingly used their last pick to draft in Olympic Gold medallist Gable Steveson to Mondays.
Supplemental drafts followed both SmackDown and Raw as the rosters were filled out for both shows. NXT had some involvement there also as Aaliyah was drafted to SmackDown and Mia Yim drafted to Raw as a result of the supplemental drafts.
For a handful of WWE Superstars, however, they are without a place to call their home and so far remain undrafted. Brock Lesnar was not drafted after declaring himself a free agent as part of an apparent deal concocted in storyline by Paul Heyman.
Elias has not been drafted with his last match coming in July when he lost in a Symphony Of Destruction bout to former partner Jaxson Ryker. The former RETRIBUTION team of T-BAR and Mace were split up in the draft but their former ally Slapjack, better known as Shane Thorne, was not drafted despite recently competing in dark matches at SmackDown shows.
Lucha House Party was not drafted with the team of Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado last losing to Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo on the 16th of September edition of WWE Main Event. Reports have arisen in recent weeks that Gran Metalik had apparently requested his release from the company.
More high-profile names remain undrafted on the women’s roster with both Asuka and Bayley missing out on the WWE Draft with the latter suffering a serious knee injury. Eva Marie was also not included in the draft pool while her former sidekick Doudrop was retained by Raw. Lacey Evans was also absent from the draft as she remains on maternity leave from the company.
