Who Is Seth Rollins Wrestling At WrestleMania?

Seth Rollins WrestleMania

Seth Rollins is officially heading to WrestleMania 38, but who will be standing across the ring from him when gets there?

On March 28th, Seth Freakin’ Rollins finally got his wish. For weeks he had lobbied, fought and sparked chaos in order to get a match at the Showcase of the Immortals. Then one meeting with Vince McMahon later, his dream came true.

There is only one catch, Rollins’ opponent will be handpicked by the WWE Chairman, and he won’t know who it is until he’s stood in the ring on April 2nd.

The mystery behind Rollins’ WrestleMania opponent has become intertwined with the will-he-won’t-he saga currently surrounding Cody Rhodes.

The American Nightmare announced on February 15th that he and his wife Brandi had left AEW. Rhodes had actually become a free agent at the tail end of 2021 after his AEW contract expired.

As soon as Rhodes broke the news, he was linked with a return to WWE, there company where he began his career back in 2006.

Initial reports suggested that WWE had “major plans” for Rhodes, while it was later stated that his first match would be against Rollins at WrestleMania. In the weeks that followed, there were numerous references to Rhodes on Monday Night Raw, as the crowd chanted his name during segments involving Rollins.

While it was reported at one stage that talks between WWE and the former AEW star had “broken down,” more recent information points to Rhodes debuting at WrestleMania weekend.

However, Cody Rhodes isn’t the only man in the frame. At the 2022 Royal Rumble, Shane McMahon returned to the company, taking part in the Royal Rumble match. It was later reported that McMahon was slated to be involved at Elimination Chamber in order to set up a match with Rollins at WrestleMania.

Although these plans were seemingly scrapped after it was reported that McMahon left the company. With that being said, in traditional WWE style, things might not be that straightforward.

On March 29th, it was reported that WWE are now looking at bringing back Shane O’Mac for WrestleMania weekend. The report notes that there is no word whether or not he’ll appear on WrestleMania 38 itself, but that he is set to be in town for the entire weekend.

One thing is for sure, as Rollins stands in the ring at WrestleMania 38, with adrenaline in his soul, he’ll know that a whole load of money is coming his way for one of the biggest matches of his career.
