The man who will challenge Seth Rollins for his World Heavyweight Championship at WWE WrestleMania XL has been determined.
In the semi-main event of WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth, the Men’s Elimination Chamber match took place to determine Seth Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship opponent at WrestleMania XL. After it was all said and done, a former world champion emerged victorious inside the dangerous structure.
Drew McIntyre outlasted United States Champion Logan Paul, Randy Orton, LA Knight, Bobby Lashley, and Kevin Owens to secure a main event spot on The Grandest Stage of Them All. McIntyre’s victory came with some unexpected help from Paul who used brass knuckles to knock out Orton with a punch, allowing McIntyre to pin The Viper.
McIntyre entered second and was easily the most dominant competitor in the match, eliminating Lashley, Orton, and Knight – though Knight’s elimination came partly at the hands of AJ Styles who interfered and hit Knight with a Styles Clash onto a chair. Orton was responsible for the other two eliminations, taking both Owens and Paul from the contest
The Scottish star is now set to challenge Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL, in what will be McIntyre’s first world championship match on The Grandest Stage Of Them All since WrestleMania 37 where he unsuccessfully challenged then-WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.
Despite being victorious, Drew McIntyre has admitted he may have suffered an injury.
The WWE Contract Status Of Drew McIntyre Remains Uncertain
Despite being set to headline WrestleMania, Drew McIntyre’s WWE status beyond the event is unclear as his current WWE contract is set to reportedly expire after this April.
When asked about his future with the company in a recent interview, McIntyre played coy and stated that he “can’t talk about that.”
