Who is Kevin Owens’ SmackDown partner “Ricky”?

Kevin Owens and Ricky

The real identity of Kevin Owens’ SmackDown partner “Ricky” has been revealed.

In last night’s episode of SmackDown, Kevin Owens was set to face off against A-Town Down Under – Austin Theory & Grayson Waller – and was joined by a “mystery partner”. Kevin Owens claimed that his actual partner wasn’t able to make it, but that he was perfectly happy to team with “Ricky” (although Ricky had to remind Owens of his name). Ricky received a warm welcome from the Seattle crowd, but as the match was about to begin, an announcement from ringside derailed his debut.

Bianca from the ringside technical team ushered Kevin Owens over to deliver the news that his partner was now here. Owens followed this up by apologising to Ricky and delivering a stunner that sent him out of the ring.

Randy Orton then made his entrance, and was revealed to be Kevin Owen’s partner. The pair emerged victorious, with Orton hitting an RKO on Waller for the win, and Owens hitting Theory with a Stunner at the same time.

Who is Ricky?

Despite his disappointing SmackDown debut, Ricky is in fact Ricky Gibson, one half of the tag team Midnight Heat alongside Eddie Pearl. Gibson has been in the wrestling industry since debuting all the way back in 2005, working primarily on the independent circuit for promotions such as WCWC.

Midnight Heat are set to take on FTR (formally known as The Revival) on September 29 at a Prestige Wrestling event.

Kevin Owens Wants To Face WWE Legend John Cena On Special Anniversary

With John Cena set to begin his retirement tour in 2025, Kevin Owens has made it clear he wants to face Cena before he hangs up his boots. Owens claimed he would be “happy to face him at any point”, but a particular date stood out as the ideal time to face his old rival.

Speaking after the match, Kevin Owens explained why multiple Hall of Famers declined his offer to be his partner.
