“When You Make Mistakes There Has To Be Consequences” – Mark Henry

Mark Henry seemingly shared his thoughts on the reported backstage confrontation between CM Punk and Jack Perry at AEW All In.

The news was first reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, and AEW President Tony Khan confirmed that there was indeed an incident. Following the altercation, both CM Punk and Jack Perry were reportedly suspended.

The incident generated negative publicity for AEW, and during a recent interview on Busted Open, Mark Henry and Dave LaGreca discussed the importance of addressing mistakes and enforcing consequences. They emphasised the need for strong leadership in preventing manipulation within the company.

Maturity comes with experience. Look what we’re talking about. We’re talking about a company that’s still young. My wife told me yesterday, she said, ‘Our kids are awesome, but they’re still kids, and they’re immature. They need grace and guidance and a kick in the ass every now and then.’ I’ve given them grace. Tony’s given them grace. He’s given them guidance. When is the kick in the ass coming?

Henry went on to say:

You need grace. But ultimately, Dave, when you make mistakes, there has to be consequences for your mistakes. Otherwise, you’re gonna do it again because there’s no consequences.

The interview focused on the significance of learning from experience and the need for leaders to be firm and decisive. It was noted that allowing bad publicity to overshadow the historic show would be detrimental. While Henry did not delve into specific details or confirm the reported suspensions, the discussion shed light on the importance of maintaining a strong and unified organisation in the wake of such incidents.

What Did Mark Henry Have To Say About Tony Khan?

Mark Henry highlighted the importance of making business decisions to ensure that everyone is on the same page. He also drew a comparison between Tony Khan and Vince McMahon, noting the success of AEW despite starting later than WWE.

He’s done stuff that nobody’s ever done. I think the only person that probably has faced what Tony is facing is Vince. They may be the only two conglomerates, like big, big business that have faced those issues. Vince got a 50-something year jump.
