WrestleMania plans for Jacob Fatu may not be locked in as conflicting reports emerge on The Samoan Werewolf’s opponent for the event.
Set to make his Mania debut in April, Fatu has quickly become one of the most popular performers on the SmackDown roster. Following his decimation of Braun Strowman at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Fatu’s became an even bigger star in the company and looks set for imminent championship success.
According to a recent report, Jacob Fatu is currently scheduled to face off against Solo Sikoa at WrestleMania, meaning that the alliance is set to end very soon. In a follow-up report on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass podcast, WrestleVotes stated that plans for Fatu vs. Sikoa to take place at Mania materialised when it was decided that Sikoa vs, Roman Reigns would happen at the Raw on Netflix premiere as opposed to at WrestleMania 41, which was the original plan:
“We are told that there are plans for Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa to meet one-on-one at WrestleMania. According to a source, those plans were shaped shortly after the decision was made to do Solo Sikoa vs. Roman Reigns at the Raw Netflix premiere back in January instead of WrestleMania, as was the plan coming out of WrestleMania 40,”
However, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the match between Fatu and Sikoa is not currently booked with one of the participants set to be involved in a different bout:
“Regarding rumors of Fatu vs. Sikoa, it is right now not booked and one of them has a different booking, but of course this can change.”
