When Will Cody Rhodes Return To WWE TV?

Cody Rhodes has been notably absent from WWE TV over the past few weeks, but is reportedly set to make his return very soon.

The American Nightmare was last in action at WrestleMania 41, headlining The Show of Shows for the third year in a row. Unfortunately for Rhodes, this was also the night when his Undisputed Championship reign came to an end after being pinned by John Cena, who in the process began his record-breaking 17th World Title reign.

Now that Rhodes has been absent for the best part of a month, fans are expecting to see the former champion make his return soon to confront Cena following the circumstances of his loss.

Discussing Rhodes on WrestleVotes Q&A, Joe from WrestleVotes stated that Rhodes is expected to be a part of the Money in the Bank show on June 7th. It is also noted that while it is unknown what Rhodes involvement will be on the show, The American Nightmare will be in town:

“I do believe he’s still scheduled to be a part of the Money in the Bank show. Don’t know if he’s wrestling, don’t know if that’s when his return will happen. But as far as I know, he will be in Los Angeles for that PLE.”

Veteran journalist Bill Apter also added that Rhodes was his pick to win the Money in the Bank briefcase, as that would be his most logical route back to a championship.

It should be noted that while Rhodes has been advertised for upcoming SmackDown tapings as soon as May 16th, WWE has not announced this on programming and The American Nightmare was previously removed from tapings he was advertised for.

Former WWE Star Was Unhappy With Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena

Rhodes’ loss to Cena was met with criticism from fans as they felt the match quality was not fitting of a WrestleMania event along with the notable absence of The Rock, who factored into the story ahead of time. Speaking on their podcast, a former WWE star gave their thoughts on Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena and also offered up an alternative finish.
