When Is WWE Extreme Rules 2021? How To Watch, Date & Time, Match Card

By Gary Cassidy. Published 31st August 2021.
WWE Extreme Rules 2021

Well, it’s almost that time of the wrestling calendar again – the “one time a year when WWE gets extreme!”

While last year’s show was re-branded as WWE Extreme Rules: The Horror Show, the WWE Universe will be hoping that title doesn’t reflect this year’s show – which could see Becky Lynch’s first scheduled match back in a WWE ring in over a year after a very short cameo to win the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. The woman she won the title from, Bianca Belair, is rumoured to be The Man’s opponent.

Meanwhile, Roman Reigns holds the Universal Championship, Big E is the WWE Champion, Charlotte Flair is the RAW Women’s Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura is the Intercontinental Champion, and Damian Priest is the United States Champion. The tag team gold is held by RK-Bro on the red brand, The Usos on the blue brand, and Rhea Ripley & Nikki A.S.H. in the women’s division. While it’s not a certainty every title will be defended on the show, conclusions can be drawn that most of said championships are likely to be up for grabs with at least one Extreme Rules Match scheduled for the show.

But how do you watch WWE Extreme Rules 2021? When does the pay-per-view start? And what matches are on the card? Here at Inside The Ropes, we have all the information you need to know ahead of the show!

When is WWE Extreme Rules 2021?

WWE Extreme Rules 2021 is currently scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 26th, 2021 and will emanate from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The event was originally scheduled to be held at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, but was relocated. The show will have a live crowd in attendance.

The “main show” will begin at 1am in the UK. However, there will be a ‘Kickoff’ show on beforehand at midnight, which will be shown for FREE on WWE’s YouTube channel, as well as Facebook and Twitter.

How can I watch WWE Extreme Rules 2021?

WWE Extreme Rules 2021 will stream at 1am UK time on the WWE Network and Peacock, with the pay-per-view kick-off starting at midnight.

The WWE Network costs £9.99 per month for subscribers, and can be cancelled at any time. There is a free tier of the WWE Network available, however pay-per-views require a paid subscription – which unlocks all content on the Network. If you’re in the US, Peacock has two tiers – one for $4.99 and a premium ad-free version for $9.99.

Elsewhere, BT Sport Box Office will be showing the event LIVE in the UK.

What is the match card for WWE Extreme Rules 2021?

The matches that have been confirmed thus far for WWE Extreme Rules are as follows:

  • Roman Reigns defends the WWE Universal Championship against ‘The Demon’ Finn Balor in an Extreme Rules Match
  • Becky Lynch will defend her newly-won WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair
  • Charlotte Flair will defend the WWE RAW Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss
  • Damian Priest is also set to defend the WWE United States Championship in a Triple Threat Match against Sheamus and Jeff Hardy
  • The Usos challenge The Street Profits for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships
  • Liv Morgan goes one-on-one with Carmella

Watch WWE Extreme Rules 2021 live on the WWE Network – and via Peacock in the United States – on Sunday, September 26th, 2021.
