More information has come to light regarding Mariah May’s AEW contract and potential interest from WWE.
After making her All Elite Wrestling debut in 2023, Mariah May saw a meteoric rise in 2024. Once an ally of Toni Storm, the star turned on her mentor and began a bitter feud that saw May capture the AEW Women’s Championship from Storm at All In. Reigning with the title for 174 days, May dropped the title back to Storm at Grand Slam Australia.
May hasn’t been seen on All Elite Wrestling television since failing to recapture the AEW Women’s Championship from Toni Storm in a bloody battle at Revolution, and in late March, Fightful Select reported that the star’s AEW contract was set to expire in 2025, leading to speculation about her future. A recent report indicated that some backstage in AEW believe Mariah May will leave the organization for WWE as WWE has always been her goal.
Is Mariah May Still Under Contract To AEW?
Fightful Select now has more information about the star’s contract status. According to the latest report, May is still under contract to All Elite Wrestling for at least a number of months, so any rumors that she’s already listed on WWE’s internal roster are false. The report notes that her situation is unlike Jeff Cobb, who has been a free agent for some time and is listed on WWE’s internal roster.
The report also notes that All Elite Wrestling hopes to retain May, but that she has not been backstage at any AEW shows since Revolution.
In other news, another international AEW show has been confirmed.
