One of the top WWE Superstars today, Bray Wyatt is a three-time World Champion in the sports entertainment giant. He’s held the WWE Championship once and the Universal Championship twice, having last held a top WWE championship in February 2020.
The former Fiend first signed with WWE in February 2009, being assigned to the company’s then-developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling. After competing as both Husky Harris and Axl Mulligan, the moniker of Bray Wyatt came around in April 2012, resulting in the formation of The Wyatt Family alongside Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
Bray Wyatt Became WWE Champion In 2017
Despite reemerging on the main WWE roster in the summer of 2013 alongside The Wyatt Family, it took four years for Bray Wyatt to achieve his first and only WWE Championship. He lifted the gold during the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, last eliminating AJ Styles to claim the championship. Also in the bout were The Miz, Dean Ambrose, Baron Corbin, and defending WWE Champion John Cena.
Bray Wyatt held the championship for 49 days, dropping the gold to former Wyatt Family brethren Randy Orton at WrestleMania 33. ‘The Viper’ earned the opportunity by winning the Royal Rumble match, ultimately turning on Wyatt after first feigning relinquishing his championship opportunity.
For clarity, Bray Wyatt’s first run with the WWE Universal Championship lasted for 119 days, dethroning Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel 2019 and dropping the hold to Goldberg at the following February’s Super ShowDown. His second run, however, lasted a mere six recognised days, having defeated Braun Strowman at SummerSlam 2020 before losing to Roman Reigns the next weekend at Payback.
Bray Wyatt is now back in WWE, resurfacing at the 2022 Extreme Rules premium live event after a year and a bit away. He’s currently embroiled in a feud vs. LA Knight, who he’s believed to have laid out backstage during the November 18 Friday Night SmackDown.
