Karl Anderson shares what he has heard about AJ Styles’ future in the WWE amid the heated ongoing saga.
Earlier this week, The Phenomenal One stunned the world with a shoot-style promo on RAW, claiming someone in World Wrestling Entertainment had orchestrated a situation where Styles would be left with no one to back him up, forcing him to face insurmountable odds. In the intense promo, he also name-dropped his former O.C. stablemates Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.
Recently, Anderson shared his thoughts on Styles’ future with the company based on what he’s heard.
Karl Anderson Shares Honest Opinion About AJ Styles’ WWE Future
Speaking on Jonathan Coachman’s Off The Ropes show, The Machine Gun revealed that Styles can wrestle as long as he wants, but is always ready to hang up his boots, as he enjoys spending time at home. Anderson added that The Phenomenal One knows he has accomplished everything he set out to do, and wouldn’t mind retiring to focus on life outside the ring.
The former Tag Team Champion then revealed that deep down, he believes The Champ Who Runs The Camp will continue wrestling, driven by his competitive nature, and likely do so with the Stamford-based promotion, as he seems happy there:
“AJ Styles, he can wrestle as long as he wants to wrestle. He can go as long as he wants to go. The thing with AJ, He’s such a family man. He’s always ready to hang it up, and he likes to tell us that he can sit down if he wants to, he can stay home if he wants to. Like he’s done his thing, he’s proved his point that he’s one of the best wrestlers of all time to ever do this. He’s proved everything that he’s ever needed to prove. But he likes being home. You know. But the question would be, is AJ going to wind it down? IS he not going to wind it down?
Knowing AJ Styles and knowing his competitive nature. I truly believe in my heart, and we don’t talk. And it’s not that we don’t speak a lot. It’s a quick, ‘I love you, I hope you’re doing good, buddy, I miss you,’ but I don’t think knowing AJ Styles’ competitive nature. I don’t think he’s going to hang it up. I heard his contract ends in February, and who knows what the truth is to any of that, right?
I still think no matter whether it’s with WWE or not, which I think it’s going to continue being with WWE. I think Styles is happy where he’s at. I think AJ’s going to continue. You know, I really believe that.”
