Roman Reigns surprised Birmingham last night on WWE RAW with an explosive return, as Paul Heyman covered his mouth with the palm of his hand, shocked by The Tribal Chief’s unexpected comeback. Reigns was seen mouthing to his former Wiseman that the latter had messed up.
The former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion was last seen in April on RAW after WrestleMania 41, when Bron Breakker joined Heyman and Seth Rollins to destroy him and CM Punk. Two nights prior, The Wiseman did the unfathomable by betraying Reigns and Punk to side with Rollins, the last person anybody expected Heyman to align with.
While Reigns always receives a warm welcome back from the WWE Universe, the Birmingham fans were something else. The cheers were loud, with “Roman, Roman Reigns!” chants blowing the roof off the arena in the show-closing moments.

Reigns sprinted to the ring when Bronson Reed and Breakker were beating CM Punk and Jey Uso to a pulp. This came after The Best in the World prevailed in the main event Gauntlet Match, which secured his spot in the World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam. Punk will face Gunther for the title next month.
Although Reigns helped Main Event Jey to his feet and the two shook hands, the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion looked through Punk when he too reached out his arm just like Uso did before him. After the show went off the air, The Tribal Chief savored the moment, raising the ‘Ones’ as Birmingham showered him with loud cheers.
With Reigns back on WWE TV, Punk emerging as the new number one contender for The Ring General’s title, and Rollins out of the picture for the time being, it will be interesting to see how The Tribal Chief’s feud with his former Wiseman takes shape.
