An AEW star revealed that a Warner Media documentary on them has been in the works for over three years and will reveal things “no one ever knows about.”
Mercedes Martinez has a wealth of experience from spending over two decades in the wrestling business, and on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, she revealed that a documentary about her experiences has been in the works for over three years, which would cover both her AEW career and her life during the time she was part of the NXT roster in 2020 and 2021.
“Right now we’re working on a documentary. It’s been almost three years in the making.”
Continuing, the star revealed that the documentary will focus on both her career and her personal life, and will contain information previously unknown to the public. She also said that the documentary is being produced by Warner Media and is set to be released through Amazon.
“They came down to AEW. They did film a lot of stuff, backstage stuff, my story on the road, even on personal stuff. It’s stuff that no one ever knows about. But it’s going to come out, hopefully next year, through Amazon and the production with Warner Media.”
“It’s a big thing that people can see the backstory of Mercedes.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the current Ring of Honor Women’s Champion opened up about finding her true identity as part of the wrestling business, and revealed that there was a time she felt she had to hide being gay to advance as a wrestler. Thankfully, those days are long over, and she is openly proud about who she is as both a person and a performer.
