Wardlow Pays Tribute To Cody Rhodes Following Injury

AEW’s resident war dog Wardlow has paid tribute to WWE’s Cody Rhodes following Rhodes’ gruesome injury that he fought through at Hell In A Cell.

At Hell In A Cell, Cody Rhodes took on Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins for the third time in as many months since Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38. Taking their rivalry inside the Hell In A Cell structure, Rhodes picked up a hat trick of wins over the former WWE Champion despite Seth Rollins targeting Rhodes’ injury. Cody Rhodes finished Rollins off with two Cross Rhodes and a symbolic sledgehammer shot.

A date has already been set for Rhodes to undergo surgery on his injury with The American Nightmare expected to go under the knife on Thursday 9th of June.

Cody Rhodes was seemingly written off WWE television on Monday Night Raw after Seth Rollins exacted his revenge on his rival with a vicious sledgehammer shot of his own.

Now AEW star Wardlow has paid tribute to Cody Rhodes, sharing a photo of him in the ring gear that he wrestled Rhodes in inside a steel cage on Dynamite, accompanied by a message of support for Rhodes:

“This was special gear, for a special match. Heal up quick champ”

The match between Wardlow and Cody Rhodes took place as part of Rhodes’ feud at the time with MJF. Wardlow stood in Cody Rhodes’ way of a match with MJF but Rhodes was able to overcome Mr. Mayhem with a memorable moonsault from the top of the cage.
