Wardlow has hinted there could be change on the way as he enters a new era which will feature an even more intense version of himself.
Through much of 2022 Wardlow has been on an unstoppable march through AEW. His split and rivalry with MJF captured the imagination of fans as he became one of the most popular stars in the company.
After demolishing MJF at Double or Nothing, Mr Mayhem claimed the TNT Championship in early July. However, in recent weeks his momentum has slowed significantly, and despite remaining popular with fans, some have wondered whether the ‘Wardlow Express is running out of steam.
After destroying Tony Nese on the September 7th edition of Dynamite, Wardlow grabbed a microphone and shot back at his critics, reiterating that his AEW reign of destruction is just getting started.
Speaking to the Daily Gazette the TNT Champion said that his post-match comments were “absolutely” designed to push things forward. Wardlow added that fans will soon get to see the hungriest and most intense version of his character to date.
There’s some changes. I’m just entering a new era in my life. I’m evolving, things are changing. I’ve just become a hungrier, more intense version of myself, and I’m ready to display that and I’m ready to let the rest of the world feel that.”
Prior to running through Tony Nese, the star was most recently in action at All Out where he teamed with FTR to defeat Jay Lethal and the Motor City Machine Guns.
At time of writing Wardlow is not scheduled to compete on the September 14th edition of Dynamite.
