On the most recent episode of NXT UK, WALTER offered a huge update on his WWE future!

By the time that Ilja Dragunov handed WALTER his first ever loss in NXT on August 22nd at NXT TakeOver: 36, the giant Austrian had reigned over NXT UK for a record 870 days.

From the moment that WALTER debuted in NXT UK in January 2019, he became synonymous with the brand, taking on and beating all comers. However, all good things must come to an end and the former NXT United Kingdom Champion has announced that he will be leaving the UK based brand.

In the clip aired on the latest edition of NXT UK, WALTER confirmed that when he faces Nathan Frazer next week, it will be his last stand.

“Ever since I arrived in NXT UK it was January 2019, I dominated this brand. I preached what’s important to me, Marcel and Fabian, the mat is sacred to us. And for a historic title reign of 870 days, I brought back glory, respect and dignity to this sport. But now the time has come, it’s my last match in NXT UK. At least for now.

My opponent will be Nathan Frazer. And I’ve been told all the great things about you, you’re high-flying, you’re up and coming, very talented, you’re the future of this brand. But let me tell you this, I’m not impressed with any of that, because like everybody else you’re in this for yourself and you’ve taken the absolute p*ss out of this great sport. You will learn one thing, that one thing that will never change, when the Ring General steps into a ring, he will come out victorious, because for me, the mat is sacred.”

WALTER was most recently in action at NXT New Year’s Evil, where he teamed with his Imperium partners Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel in defeat to MSK and Riddle.

While it is unclear where WALTER’s future lies, it was reported that he may be heading stateside on a more permanent basis to join the main roster.
