Wade Barrett Names Three WWE Stars Who Could Defeat Roman Reigns

Wade Barrett offered up three names who could dethrone Roman Reigns as Head of the Table in WWE.

This Friday on SmackDown, Roman Reigns will celebrate two years as Universal Champion. The Tribal Chief has smashed and stacked up the competition on Raw and SmackDown, showing no signs of slowing down.

Speaking to WWE UK, NXT commentator Wade Barrett was asked about Reigns’ upcoming battle with Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle. Barrett offered three strong names who could dethrone the Tribal Chief but ended the conservation with a caveat.

“I think there are three people on this planet who can go toe-to-toe with Roman right now, in my opinion. Those three are Bobby Lashley, Brock Lesnar, and Drew McIntyre. The issue I have is I don’t think Roman can be beaten outside of a pure one-on-one scenario. What I mean by that is we know for a fact that Roman has always got the backing of The Bloodline, Paul Heyman, or even Sami Zayn, who we’ve seen floating around a fair bit.

Drew is going to be outnumbered, whatever way he looks at it. He needs some form of backup to beat Roman Reigns, in my opinion. I just don’t see where that backup is going to be coming from.”

McIntyre has never defeated Reigns in a big pay-per-view match. The last time the two wrestled was at Survivor Series 2020. Although the Scottish Warrior has yet to claim a victory over the Tribal Chief, he does have homecourt advantage this weekend with Clash at the Castle taking place in the United Kingdom.
