W. Morrissey Teased As Wardlow’s Next Opponent

W. Morrissey appears to be heading to AEW Dynamite for a huge showdown with Wardlow.

On the April 27th episode of AEW Dynamite, Wardlow continued his march towards a prospective clash against MJF with a match against Lance Archer.

Despite being on the receiving end of a Chokeslam and a Blackout, Wardlow rallied and delivered four Powerbombs to score the win, much to the annoyance of MJF and Shawn Spears.

Later in the show, MJF who had noticeably regained his composure, was interviewed backstage. During the segment, the leader of The Pinnacle was shown on the phone offering someone “six figures” to wrestle next week.

MJF said that the prospective opponent was taller, stronger and smarter than Wardlow, ending with the phrase, “and you can’t teach that.” A nod towards IMPACT Wrestling star W. Morrissey.

“Wardlow, next week you’re gonna be going up against a man who is smarter than you. Who is stronger than you. And who is taller than you. And you can’t teach that.”

W. Morrissey is best known for his time in WWE where he wrestled under the name Big Cass.

It has also been announced that Deonna Purrazzo will be making her debut on Dynamite on May 4th, when she takes on Mercedes Martinez to crown the Undisputed Ring of Honor Women’s Champion.

Purrazzo won the ROH Women’s Title back on January 9th with victory over Rok-C, who is now known as Roxanne Perez in NXT 2.0. Meanwhile, Mercedes Martinez scored a win over Willow Nightingale at ROH Supercard of Honor which meant that she was crowned Interim Champion.

Since leaving WWE in April 2022, Purrazzo has cemented herself as one of the premiere women’s wrestlers in the world. The now IMPACT Wrestling star was won the Knockouts Championship twice, the AAA Reina de Reinas Title as well as the ROH Women’s Title.

Speaking in an interview in December, the IMPACT star said that she was “disappointed” that more women didn’t come through the ‘forbidden door.’
