W. Morrissey Seemingly Undergoes Name Change

By Robert DeFelice. Published 10th December 2022.
W. Morrissey

W. Morrissey is changing his name to emphasize his size. As longtime fans may remember, W. Morrissey is seven foot tall, and you can’t teach that. Now a member of the All Elite Wrestling roster, he is changing his ring name to spotlight the height that he brings with him to the wrestling ring.

Morrissey used to be known as Big Cass in WWE and now, he is seemingly ready to add the “big” back into his name as revealed by new promotional graphics and later confirmed by the wrestler himself.

W. Morrissey Is Now “Bigg Bill”

Morrissey will be wrestling on tonight’s episode of AEW Rampage but is now being advertised as “Big Bill.” However, the former Big Cass tweeted out the corrections and put a helpful reminder in his Twitter bio on how to stylize his new name.

Tonight, he will team with Lee Moriarty as part of The Firm. Originally, The Firm was scheduled to work opposite CM Punk. Unfortunately, that all changed following the backstage altercation between CM Punk and The Elite at AEW All Out.

Bigg Bill has the distinction of being the last person to drop MJF, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, through a table. Bill Also helped cost Jon Moxley the GCW World Championship in the lead-up to his match with MJF.

Prior to landing in AEW, Morrissey spent some time in Impact Wrestling. It was there that he feuded with Brian Myers and Matt Cardona. W. Morrissey was let go by WWE in 2018. During his brief time there as a singles competitor, he was able to wrestle Bryan Danielson on pay-per-view.

In the past, Morrissey has spoken about wanting to wrestle for NJPW STRONG.

Now, he is looking to carve a new path as Bigg Bill and move his career forward.
