A former champion was left sporting a crimson mask at AEW Double or Nothing.
In the third match of the night on the 25th May 2025 edition of Double or Nothing, former ROH Champion Mark Briscoe faced Ricochet in a stretcher match. However, while the match contained a few comic spots, including one where Briscoe cleaned Ricochet’s bald head, it was otherwise filled with several violent spots.
The bout involved the violent use of chairs, stiff bumps, stretchers, and even scissors. Midway through the match, fans caught Ricochet brutally bash Briscoe’s head on the ringside stretcher, brutally busting open Briscoe. The camera then zoomed in on the former champion’s crimson mask.
As the bout continued, Ricochet also kicked Briscoe in the groin before stabbing him with a pair of scissors near the ambulance. The former WWE star then followed it up with a spirit gun before tossing Briscoe into the ambulance, and winning the match.

WWE Star Sami Zayn Once Heaped Praise On AEW’s Mark Briscoe
Last year, Sami Zayn opened up on Mark and Jay Briscoe’s success and complimented their hard work and contribution to the industry. On the 17th anniversary of The Briscoe Brothers defeating Kevin Steen(Owens) and El Generico to retain their ROH Tag Titles, El Generico, aka Sami Zayn, shared his honest feelings about the group.
“The Briscoes are the best tag team of the past 25 years, and on a short list for best of all time. At least a dozen top wrestlers today will tell you the best/toughest tag matches of their careers were with Dem Boys. I wouldn’t be here without them. I miss you Jay. Love you Mark.”
