Vince McMahon’s Current Role In WWE Creative Confirmed

WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon is very much a part of WWE creative.

Ever since Vince McMahon returned to WWE in January 2023, speculation has run wild over how much influence he wields over creative, and how much of what fans see on television comes from the Executive Chairman.

While there were rumours that he was involved to some degree, these weren’t confirmed until April when McMahon publicly stated that he takes an interest in the bigger picture, although he isn’t “in the weeds” as he was in years gone by. Despite great insistence that Triple H remains in control, a number of recent reports have thrown that into doubt, with McMahon making heavy changes to programming, albeit remotely.

In an attempt to clarify the situation, Dave Meltzer stated on social media that “Vince has final say” although Triple H remains largely in control of creative. The Game himself has since confirmed that McMahon isn’t involved in the “day-to-day” of the process.

Despite his involvement in creative, McMahon has largely remained away from tapings, only attending Raw on March 6th, the Raw after WrestleMania 39, an event in Stamford, Connecticut, and the July 7th episode of SmackDown from Madison Square Garden since returning to the company.

McMahon hasn’t appeared on-screen since June 2022, when he introduced John Cena on Raw as the star celebrated the 20th anniversary of his WWE debut.

WWE Superstar Left After Refusing To Work With Vince McMahon

Following Vince McMahon’s return to the company in January it was reported that a number of Superstars weren’t exactly pleased to see the Executive Chairman back. McMahon had stepped away the previous July having been engulfed in a sexual misconduct scandal that involved a number of former employees as well as another member of management.

Interestingly, it’s been reported that Eric Young who only returned to the company earlier in the year, asked to be released in April as he didn’t want to work with McMahon.
