Vince McMahon To Attend WrestleMania 39

WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon

With his real role behind the scenes in WWE seemingly uncertain, it appears that Vince McMahon will be on hand for the biggest show of the year.

Off the back of attending the March 6th episode of Monday Night Raw, it has been confirmed that McMahon will now be heading to WrestleMania. The report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider (via PWInsiderElite) states that multiple WWE sources have informed him that McMahon will “100%” be at the event.

At present, there is no word on whether the Executive Chairman will appear on-screen or whether he will remain in the background.

McMahon’s appearance at the Raw taping was his first since returning to WWE in January. Since forcing his way back onto the Board of Directors, both McMahon and WWE have insisted that he is there purely to facilitate the sale of the company and aid in upcoming media rights negotiations.

Vince McMahon actually wrestled at WrestleMania 38, before ‘retiring’ as a result of a sexual misconduct scandal three months later.

WWE Talents Wary Of Vince McMahon’s Influence

It has been reported in recent days that the uncertainty around McMahon’s role has raised some eyebrows backstage. Some talents are said to be “concerned” that McMahon is more involved than has been disclosed publicly. They point to more frequent rewrites and adjustments being made to gimmicks to fit with what McMahon preferred previously.

Talent mentioned that there have been instances of “extensive creative” being laid out in advance, only to be changed at the last minute. A known staple of the previous ‘McMahon regime.’ The report adds that some of these things had an impact on morale.
