Despite retiring, Vince McMahon will reportedly still be available to WWE Superstars and personnel as he attempts to settle down post-WWE.
The ex-WWE boss is transitioning away from the company after announcing his retirement from the company but per Fightful Select, Vince McMahon will reportedly “still be available to some degree”.
This was allegedly uttered to WWE higher-ups last week, though it’s unclear what sort of sway he’ll still have in the company or how long, exactly, he’ll be around for. In his absence, Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan, Triple H, and others will be taking over from him in their respective roles.
Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE last Friday with a tweet. A follow-up WWE press release noted that Stephanie McMahon will take on the role of Chairwoman full-time, while she and Nick Khan will both serve as CEO. Stephanie had previously served as interim Chairwoman and CEO since June.
Triple H was also announced today as being WWE’s new Head of Creative. The same Fightful Select report noted that, despite Bruce Prichard and Ed Koskey being in charge of SmackDown’s direction last week, ‘The Game’ remained as the “finish guy”. Prichard has now been confirmed to be working on the creative team underneath the real-life Paul Levesque.
In relation to Triple H’s appointment, USA Network sources indicated to Fightful that the move was “an exciting change”.
