Vince McMahon is reportedly “super impressed” with Piper Niven following her arrival on Monday Night RAW.
Niven debuted on Monday Night RAW on June 14th alongside the returning Eva Marie. The Scottish Superstar has featured, albeit not always willingly, as Marie’s protégé in the weeks since.
“We’re going to see a lot of Eva Marie and Doudrop, because Vince apparently loves the end goal. I was told he’s super impressed with Piper Niven so far,”
The storyline between Marie and Niven initially received significant criticism online, with Niven’s new alias ‘Doudrop’ drawing the ire of many fans.
However, it seems that the fans weren’t alone in being sceptical as McMahon also “wasn’t sold” on the idea. Despite his initial reservations, McMahon has apparently now been won over by Niven’s performance in her new role.
“The story I was told to me was, ‘he wasn’t sold on the idea, but let’s do it.’ Then after that first week, where Piper stood up to her, he loved it, he loved the facial expressions. Obviously, I’m paraphrasing stories I heard from multiple people. There’s going to be a lot more storyline development with these characters in the weeks ahead,”
On the June 28th episode of RAW, Niven teamed with Eva Marie to defeat the team of Asuka and Naomi.
Piper Niven originally signed with WWE in 2017, competing in the Mae Young Classic making it all the way to the third round. The Scot debuted with NXT UK in March 2019.
