Vince McMahon addressed WWE employees after his federal grand jury subpoena became public.

On August 2nd WWE announced record second-quarter profits, boasting revenue that topped $410 million. However, nestled in the report was also the revelation that Vince McMahon had been subject to a search warrant and federal grand jury subpoena on July 17th.

It should be noted that no charges were brought following action.

It’s now been reported by Wrestle Votes that McMahon released a statement to WWE employees addressing the matter when the news became public.

“In 2022, WWE formed a special committe to review allegations of misconduct against me. That review was concluded in Novmeber 2022 following an extensive investigation. Throughout this experience, I have always denied intentional wrongdoing and continue to do so. I am confident that the government’s investigation will be resolved without any findings of wrongdoing. I am focused on completing the recovery process from my recent spinal surgery and on closing our transaction with Endeavor, which will create one of the preeminent global sports and entertainment brands.”

Why Was Vince McMahon Being Investigated?

In the summer of 2022, it was reported that Vince McMahon had had a string of affairs and one former wrestler claimed he coerced her into giving him oral sex. This was followed by claims that McMahon had paid the multiple women involved a total of well over $10 million to suppress the allegations.

As a result of these claims, an internal investigation was launched by WWE’s Board of Directors.

McMahon initially retired in July 2022 but forced his way back onto the Board of Directors in January 2023.
