Vince McMahon allegedly rehired former WWE superstar The Boogeyman just hours after he was let go by John Laurinaitis.
The recent revelation of McMahon rehiring Boogeyman just six hours after being fired surfaced on a recent episode of Cafe De Rene when former WWE superstar Rene Dupree recounted the story.
“Did you ever hear the story about Boogeyman, when he got hired? He got fired in the morning at 9 A.M. and then rehired at 3 O’clock in the afternoon the same day. You remember Johnny Ace? So, Johnny didn’t like [The Boogeyman] and then, I guess he thought he had enough power to be able to fire someone like [The Boogeyman]. And then when Vince found out that [The Boogeyman] was fired, he made Johnny Ace call him up and rehire him. I think with a raise, actually.”
The Boogeyman has made several one-off appearances over the years. One of his most notable came during the 2015 Royal Rumble match, where he crossed paths with the enigmatic Bray Wyatt. Unfortunately for Boogeyman, Wyatt quickly eliminated him from the match.
Vince McMahon Gave Boogeyman A Big Push Early In His WWE Career
The Boogeyman, known for his eerie persona and captivating presence, enjoyed a successful stint in WWE from 2004 to 2009.
During his initial run, Boogeyman made a significant impact on fans and quickly became a popular figure in the wrestling world. He was pushed as an unrelenting force on WWE SmackDown, remaining undefeated for months on end.
He had a memorable feud with former WWE Champion JBL. This began when Boogeyman stalked the pair throughout a number of shows.
One of Boogeyman’s most memorable moments came at WrestleMania 22. In a Handicap match against Booker T and Sharmell, he emerged victorious, solidifying his status as a formidable competitor.
However, his undefeated streak eventually came to an end in 2007 when he faced Finlay on an episode of SmackDown.
