Amidst the allegations against him, it’s been reported that Vince McMahon supposedly “propositioned” the late Ashley Massaro on a number of occasions.
In a shock move, Vince McMahon announced his retirement from all executive positions in WWE. The announcement came in the middle of several allegations against the ex-Chairman citing acts of sexual misconduct.
These reports alleged that McMahon acted inappropriately with a former paralegal hired by WWE, among other accusations. He’d been out of his role as Chairman and CEO since the middle of June, with his retirement cementing the end of the Vince McMahon era.
Further allegations have now come his way, however, as Paul London states that Ashley Massaro was approached by McMahon on several occasions. The former WWE Tag Team Champion joined Rene Dupree on his Cafe de Rene podcast to discuss the situation:
“I do remember, specifically, many times when she would be crying to me because Vince was propositioning her to fly on the jet with them. Kevin Dunn, Bucktooth Bucky, would be telling her that she has to fly on the jet with them… Every now and then, they’d always put the Divas up at like the TV hotel or whatever, he’d be knocking on her door and trying to get her to answer.”
Ashley Massaro was signed to WWE for three years after winning the 2005 Diva Search, ultimately being released in July 2008. During her tenure, the late Superstar challenged for the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 23, and served as a valet for Paul London and Brian Kendrick.
Massaro was involved in a November 2016 lawsuit filed against WWE, which alleged that WWE had “concealed risks of injury” that ended up resulting in “neurological damage”. Ashley was also reportedly sexually assaulted during a WWE tour of Kuwait, an incident that Vince McMahon is said to have begged her to not reveal to the public.
