Vince McMahon Netflix Project Still In Production Despite Scandal

The Vince McMahon Netflix project is still under production despite the serious allegations currently surrounding the former WWE Chairman.

Vince McMahon retired from his role as WWE Chairman and CEO in July in a way that nobody saw coming. The sudden retirement was announced through his Twitter account amidst allegations of sexual misconduct.

Many of the allegations centre around claims that McMahon paid multiple woman millions of dollars in hush money to cover up a series of sexual relationships.

Before the scandal was made public, Netflix had been working on a documentary about the former WWE Chairman, but this was believed to have been shelved.

However writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer explained that the project remains on the agenda.

“While the story going around was that the Vince McMahon scandal let to the cancellation of the Netflix series on the life of McMahon, that is not the case. They are doing a McMahon project currently with cooperation from WWE, Chris Smith is the Director and Executive Producer.

This is one of at least two major documentaries on the life of McMahon in production right now and there is also the Vince McMahon book coming out next year”

Following his retirement Vince McMahon has largely kept a low public profile but he was recently pictured celebrating his 77th birthday alongside a mystery woman, John Cena, his wife, Brock Lesnar and Pat McAfee.

The billionaire’s wife Linda wasn’t spotted at the celebrations, further fuelling speculation that the pair are no longer together. Though Vince and Linda remain legally married, it was reported in June that they haven’t been “together” in decades.
