A WWE Hall of Famer has admitted that they were left in tears during a meeting with WWE supremo Vince McMahon.
Road Dogg made his name in the late nineties in WWE as part of both the New Age Outlaws with Billy Gunn and then later, D-Generation X. As time wore on, the Outlaws tag team met the same end as most other tag teams in WWE – they split up.
Speaking on his Oh…You Didn’t Know podcast, Road Dogg has opened up about how his meeting with Vince McMahon when he found out his time teaming with Gunn was coming to an end left him in tears:
“When they tried to split me and Billy [Gunn] up and this is a true story, I literally cried tears in Vince McMahon’s office and said, ‘I don’t think I can carry this on my own.’”
“I didn’t believe in myself and Vince talked me up and talked me out of there and I was like — walked out of there feeling great and went on to do the Intercontinental and the Hardcore Title, but I had already started really going down a dark path with my drug use and stuff by then.”
A scandal is currently engulfing Vince McMahon with WWE’s Board investigating allegations that McMahon has paid out $12 million to four different female former WWE employees.
