Veteran WWE Raw Star Admits Retirement Is Near: “Just Here to Have Fun”

Veteran WWE Raw Star Admits Retirement Is Near:

A member of the WWE Raw roster is well aware that their time left in the ring is limited.

After making a surprise return at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, Carlito re-signed with the company after more than a decade on from his last run.

First a part of the LWO, Carlito later betrayed the group and joined The Judgment Day, a faction he is still with to this day. Although the former Intercontinental Champion regularly appears on TV and competes sporadically, he is aware that his final match is not too far away.

Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, the Raw star stated that while he did not have a date in mind, he knows retirement is coming soon:

“You never know, you know what I mean? Your body sometimes lets you know. Who knows? But I know it’s coming.”

When asked about his current goals, the former United States Champion added that at this stage of his career, he is more concerned about having fun as opposed to dream matches:

“Just having fun, man. And with what time I’ve got left, just giving it whatever I can. I’ve passed that stage of “Who would you like to work with?” I’m just here to have fun and work, and leave some body of work before I go.”

Carlito Looks Back On First WWE Run And Huge Debut Victory

The Judgment Day member’s first run with the company was from 2004 to 2009. Hyping his debut ahead of time, multiple vignettes played on SmackDown to signal his impending arrival.

Picking up a huge win on his first night in the company, Carlito defeated John Cena to capture the United States Championship in what was a shock to the fans. Speaking with Inside The Ropes over WrestleMania weekend, the WWE star had fond memories of his victory over John Cena.
